In the summer of 1989, a newborn boy child was found abandoned in the Forest of Dean, in Southern England. He was wrapped in a rough linen cloth, and although there was no sign of anyone who had left him, and he had probably been in the forest for hours, maybe days, his blue eyes sparkled, and he laughed and played with his rescuers.

Nineteen years later, instead of pulling a sword out of a stone and restoring chivalry and the round table to post-Labour Britain, he's at university and writing songs about 200-year-old ladies and breakfast cereals. The world holds its breath to see what he'll do with his life, but it's generally accepted that he's a lost cause, and we're all more interested in this one kid who's just showed up who can turn milk chocolate by staring at it really hard.
