Αστυμεδουσα

The daughter of Sthenelus (Table 31) who, in an obscure version of the Oedipus legend, was married to Oedipus after the death of Jocasta. She is supposed to have slandered her two stepsons Eteocles and Polynices in the presence of their father by claiming that they wished him ill. Oedipus cursed them both and this was said to be the origin of the quarrel between the two princes.
