The lead singer of the popular alternative rock
group, StainD, Aaron Lewis is well known for his unique voice and creative ability.
His most popular song "Outside", is a simple 8-chord piece that has surprisingly
emotional lyrics. Known for his troubled and often tumultuous singing style,
Lewis is often characterized by his fans as a contemporary version of the classic
tortured genius. Lewis himself has stated that many of his songs are derived
from personal experience and past, unfruitful relationships. One pities Lewis
as the listen to the pain expressed in his songs, yet it is this pain that makes
his songs easily identifiable.
Lewis and his band StainD have released one album,
entitled Dysfunction (1999), the most famous single being "Mudshovel"
Lewis and StainD plan to release a new album,
entitled Break the Cycle in the Spring of 2001.
