Wisconsin. 2000 census indicated the population was 17,634. The village borders
Lambeau Field and many
Packer fans park in Ashwaubenon as local residents rent out driveways and yards for parking during Packer games
Local legend has it that Ashwaubeon was founded by Little Crow (son of an Ottawa chief) in 1797.
There's a story of how he rescued a Menomonee squaw from a band of Chippewas (Ojibwa), but this is probably just propaganda put out by the Ottawa's Disinformation Department to justify their blatant land grab.
