children's
current affairs program that runs on the
ABC (aka
Channel 2) in Australia during school hours. The idea was that primary children (especially senior ones -- years 5 and 6) should be given a little more
background material on the stuff they're seeing on TV and hearing about. For this reason, it runs during school hours, so that whole classrooms of students can actually watch it at school.
Comprehension and
essay topics would frequently follow.
It was formerly hosted by Richard Morecroft and has been running for at least two decades.
