Every day at 12.00 noon and again at 3.00 pm there is an exciting exhibition at Healesville Sanctuary called the Birds of Prey flight presentation.

During this exhibition, which lasts approximately 45 minutes two keepers display the birds they have trained, in flight, whilst giving a running commentary on the birds' skills, habits, natural habitat and hunting methods, as well as the impact urbanisation has had upon them.

Lat time I was at such an exhibition a sea eagle, wedge-tailed eagle, and a snowy owl were shown, but the individual birds displayed change from day to day.

The snowy owl flew over me... so low that its wingtips brushed my face.

I shall never forget it.
