In Teutonic mythology, Borghild is the personification of the evening mist, or perhaps the moon, who kills the light of day. She is the wife of Sigmund. Her myth became part of the dynastic struggles of the Germanic saga, the Volsung. Borghild bore Sigmund two children, Helgi and Hamund.
