One of the London boroughs, covering the towns of Bromley, Beckenham, Elmstead Woods and Chislehurst. Mainly suburban residential area in the far South of London, postally in Kent. Expensive. Not terrifically exciting.

Bromley itself is a small town with a lot of leafy Victorian villas, two railway stations and a large mall called The Glades. Its main claim to fame is as the birthplace of H.G. Wells. Hanif Kureishi was also born there, and gives a good description of growing up there in The Buddha of Suburbia. Other famous alumni of the area include David Bowie, Thomas Crapper, Walter de la Mare and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
