The Chili Appreciation Society International, host of the annual Terlingua International Chili Championship. On their web site, chili.org, they say:

In addition to raising funds for charitable organizations in the United States and participating foreign countries, we seek to educate the public about the historic and cultural significance of chili - an indigenous American tradition. We are working for the adoption of chili as the National Food of the United States.

A conference held in September, 1992 called the 'Cryptology Amateurs for Social Irresponsibility.' Hosted by several noted Berkeley cryptographers with the goal of public access to unbreakable cryptography. It led to several revolutionary ideas in cryptography, and led to the coining of the term cypherpunk. Both the Cypherpunk Manifesto and the Crypto Anarchist manifesto were drafted during this time. The group expanded widely soon thereafter, and was directly responsible for the public release of PGP.
