Originally (I think) a College Board
Advanced Placement test, my
high school has implemented it as the most worthless math class ever dreamed of. A much more descriptive name would be "Calculus for people who never understood Algebra". They claim it is supposed to move half as fast as
Calculus BC, the real calculus class, and is to cover the first semester of college calculus in a year of high school. We're three weeks in, and are finally allowed to open the book (to start a lesson BC did on the third
day. Topics slated for the end of the semester, I already know from
Pre-Cal last year. The simple
derivative (covered extensively last year) is spoken of as a magical, mystical knowledge that we
might be shown in the coming weeks, if we're good.
I am stuck there because of a
scheduling conflict, and couldn't complain enough in real life.
