Pioneer BBC children's television programme created and written by Gordon Murray, originally broadcast from 1966-1969 but repeated frequently in the Watch with Mother series, which ran until 1980.
Chigley was the follow-up to Trumpton and Camberwick Green, and starred some of the same characters, relocated to a small industrial town somewhere in the Trumptonshire countryside, dominated by the biscuit factory run by Mr Cresswell. At the end of every episode, the workers of the biscuit factory would hold a dance around the Dutch pipe organ. Bessie the locomotive chuffed up and down on Lord Belborough's steam railway, often coming to the rescue, sometimes bringing him strange dodgy-looking packages. A gem of mild English country life.
