Christopher Gaze is the
Artistic Director and
founder of
Bard on the Beach. Raised in
Guilford, in
Surrey,
England, He was trained at the
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School from
1970 to
1973 and, after some years in
repertory theatre, came to
Canada in
1975, and
Vancouver in
1983. He has played at the
Shaw Festival, and most major venues across
Canada, and many in the
United States and
Britain. He created Bard on the Beach in
1990, bringing the number of attendees from 6000 to 65000 for the
2001 year.
Christopher Gaze is a popular public speaker, and his voice is well-known in the commercial world. He narrates for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and in animation projects.
