Take your average Dyson Sphere. Instead of a normal 1 AU radius, shrink it down to about 4 million miles. Now dimple the surface so there are wells 100 miles deep or so with a few hundred thousand square miles at the bottom. Now you can easily live on the Dyson Sphere without the need for fancy gravity generators.
