Famous Harlem drag queen made even more famous by the 1990 documentary Paris Is Burning. Corey died of AIDS in 1993 and a mummified corpse was discovered in his/her closet. The identity of the body, which had been encased in a garment bag for nearly 20 years, was never discovered. A New York magazine article theorized that the corpse was a hustler who may have been abusing the drag queen. A play based on these events called Out of the Bag had a two-month run at the New York Performance Alliance.
