There is, depending on the drone chosen, a fair amount of money involved in this method of fishing but some fishermen are very excited with the results.

The Federal Aviation Administration governs both the commercial and recreational use of drones. The rules change a lot so be sure you know what they are. There is an app with interactive maps, developed by Kittyhawk, in cooperation with the FAA, for recreational drone use called B4UFLY. Links for the iphone and android versions are listed below.
