A citizen of Ankh-Morpork, and a member of the Beggar's Guild. The Duck Man's past is a mystery; he wears tattered clothes that were clearly once both fine and expensive. He lives on the streets, with other beggars such as Foul Ole Ron, Arnold Sideways, and Coffin Henry. He is rather less insane than the average beggar, and is courteous, clearly-spoken and well-mannered. However, he has a duck on his head. This state of affairs is made worse by the fact that he does not realise that the duck is there. As such, a dialogue frequently heard in the depths of misty Ankh-Morpork runs something like this:

"You ought to feed your duck."
"What duck?"
