Flatterland: Like Flatland
, Only More So, a book by Ian Stewart
Stewart expands on the 1884 classic Flatland by A. Square the pseudonym of Edwin A. Abbott. While the original served to introduce the 4th dimension of time by comparing how odd a third dimension would seem to somebody living in a 2D plane.
Stewart has written a sequel touching upon a vast amount of modern mathematics. The book begins by exploring many/multiple dimensional spaces and the concept of infinite dimensionality and abstract topologies. As the book progresses the content expands to cover superstring theory, time travel, relativity, quantum mechanics, and black holes.
