A National Monument located on Staten Island, New York City. Though never used in battle, it was instrumental in preventing the invasion of the New York harbor with its menacing ramparts and high walls, built into and earthen mound.

Currently home to the national monument, a National Parks Service office, a US Coast Guard base and the start of the New York City Marathon.

It is located on the east side of Staten Island, directly across the Narrows from Brooklyn.
