An IRC network for Furries. First established on November 27th, 2001 FurNet is the new name for what is left of YiffNet, the original furry IRC network. On November 12th, 2001, around 10am EST, Elkay disabled DNS resolving for the YiffNet servers and took down the main server known as Netmonger. Harik then followed suit and took down AO's IRC daemon. They had a very simple and well founded reason, as they had used a lot of time and energy to set up a network as a friendly gesture to the furry community, but got nothing but bitching out of it (a good example is to be found on the new FurNet homepage).
The three servers that have survived the change are:
- yiff.furry.de port 6667
- irc.critter.net port 6667
- irc.chameleon.net port 6667
