A subject of King Latinus who lived at the time when Aeneas and the Trojans landed in Latium. When Aeneas' son Iulus (or Ascenius) killed a tame hind, almost starting a war between the Latins and the Trojans, Galaesus tried to intervene between the two sides and restore peace, but he failed in his attempt and was killed.
