Tin Pan Alley composer Herman "Dodo" Hupfeld (1894-1951), is mainly remembered for writing "As Time Goes By," featured in the film, Casablanca. (You know he wrote it in 1931, 11 years before the movie, for Everybody's Welcome, right? Course you do.) He also was a featured pianist in Ziegfeld's Midnight Frolic, both as an accompanist for Irene Castle and performing his own songs.
