Also a nickname for Gainesville, Florida.

According to a July 2001 article in the Gainesville Sun, this name is actually historically incorrect. Hogtown was a small 19th century settlement along Hogtown Creek. Gainesville was a bit southeast and didn't grow to "swallow up" the Hogtown area until around 1960.

Still, Gainesville's known as Hogtown, with several shops and stores named after Hogtown (including Hogtown Hot Dogs, where I had lunch...)
