A
river in
Florida, north of
Gainesville, which starts at the Ichetucknee
Springs, which discharge about 233 million
gallons of
water a day. The river runs for about six miles and then joins the Santa Fe River. Much of the river is in Ichetucknee Springs
State Park, which has
hiking trails,
boardwalks, and a nice setup for people who want to ride an
inner tube with the
current down a portion of the river. This last seems to be the most popular use of the park, so much so that limits on the number of tubers per day from some launches have been established to avoid completely destroying the river's ecosystem. Despite the crowds, tubing is a lot of fun.
