A work of Science Fiction by Stanislaw Lem. Not exactly a novel, it is instead a collection of prefaces and introductions to books that have not yet been written. The subjects of the books are fantastic, from the art of making pornographic images with X-rays to a paper on teaching bacteria to communicate in English. The books are subtly related to both each other and Imaginary Magnitude itself. The last third of the book is a two-part introduction to a book written by a sentient computer, and contains one of the best essays on Artificial Intelligence that I have ever read.
