The
monetary unit of
Peru between 1985 and 1991. It was divided into 100
centimos. It replaced the
sol, but was overtaken by
hyperinflation, and was replaced by a new sol in 1991.
I think inti is the Quechua (Inca) word for 'sun', Spanish sol.
The symbol was I/. as in I/. 5.00. Postage stamps in 1991 were denominated in millions of inti, as e.g. I/m 0.25.
