adj. -

1. In the manner of the visions of Friedrich August von Kekulé, molecular biologist for whom kekulene (aka hexatriene: C6H8) was named. Kekulé was known for allowing his active imagination to aid him in solving the riddles of early organic chemistry:
Again the atoms were gamboling before my eyes. This time the smaller groups kept modestly to the background. My mental eye, rendered more acute by repeated vision of this kind, could not distinguish larger structures, of manifold conformation; long rows, sometimes more closely fitted together; all twining and twisting in snakelike motion. But look! What was that? One of the snakes had seized hold of its own tail, and the form whirled mockingly before my eyes.
e.g. "Kekulean dreams and Archimedean eureka experiences"

2. Shaped like kekulene or any of the objects from Kekule's dreams

e.g. "Kekuléan hexagonal structures with each hexagon being resonant", or more famously, "I stare carefully into the Kekuléan knot of the middle Dean's necktie."
