Here's a weird corner of the culinary world you might wind up wishing I never told you about.
Go Google image search "kitty litter". Go ahead, I'll wait.
Are you back? Well, it turns out most of those images you just saw are actually CAKE!
That's right. Apparently kitty litter cake is some sort of craze that is sweeping the nation. Or at least the internets.
Here's how it's done...
Stuff you need
1 package chocolate cake mix
1 package white cake mix
Several vanilla cookies
1 package tootsie rolls
1 litter box (preferably NEW)
Method
Bake the two cakes according to the instructions. Then crumble them and mix together in the litter box. Crumble the cookies as well and mix small chunks of cookie with the crumbled cake to resemble litter. Heat tootsie rolls briefly in a microwave - just enough that they become soft and pliable. Elongate them and round the ends as desired, until they resemble cat poop. Bury the "poop" in the litter and leave some on top as "fresh" poop. For highest gross-out factor, display with the litter box on top of newspaper and serve with a litter scoop.
