The Korg Z1 has been described as one of the most underrated synthesizers that Korg ever made. It could be described as a "virtual analog" synth, but it can also do much more than that. It's got 12 voice polyphony, 2 oscillators + noise generator + an additional oscillator per sound, two very analog and fat filters per sound and some good on-board effects. The oscillators can do saw or square waves etc., but there are also other oscillator types (for example physical modeling) that make more exotic sounds possible. The synth is very tweakable with an X/Y finger pad and 5 configurable knobs. The sound is great and the possibilities extensive.
