Kreuzberg is a city in the middle of
Berlin, and is surrounded by
Mitte,
Tiergarten,
Schöneberg,
Tempelhof,
Neukölln,
Treptow,
Friedrichshain,
Prenzlauer Berg, and
Wedding.
Currently being discussed is the Berlin District Reform, which, like the case of many cities in Québec, is part of a plan to merge Kreuzberg with Friedrichshain. There is consequently quite a lot of debate; some feel that Friedrichshain is becoming almost as popular and as cool a place as Kreuzberg proper; others do not want to have their city centres moved hither and thither.
For those who like to see and do things, there is the Kreuzberg Festival which happens from the end of August to the begining of September. There is also the Kreuzberg Museum, and Checkpoint Charlie, the sign that says YOU ARE LEAVING THE AMERICAN SECTOR (in three languages).
