A common way of measuring the effective speed of PCs in the 286 / 386 era. Measured by a piece of software once the machine was built.

Took into account processor speed, memory wait states, memory speed and cache memory. Didn't take into account disk speed.

About as useless as most other benchmarks, but slightly less useless than straight processor speed.
