MMIX is a RISC computer for the third millennium and the successor of MIX.

It's a hypothetical computer architecture that
Donald Knuth describes in the fourth Volume of
The Art of Computer Programming.

Although a silicon-implementation of the MMIX
processor does not yet exist there are several emulators available and it's even a regular target for our
all favourite compiler gcc (as of version 3.1).
