In that wood
saw the deity, behind trees
coral flower, by a log
fallen, moss-covered
Where we walked once
you trailed behind
watching the reflection
I walked along the river
where I thought our paths would meet
the clearing came,
twelve stones in a circle,
no beginning or end.
We lit a fire,
in red blankets,
orange light cast shadows
through the trees,
dark auburn and green.
Old fire in the sky,
airplane silhouette,
hiding behind the leaves.
Made it here without you
