The 110 is the marching band at Ohio University in Athens, OH created in 1967 by Gene Thrailkill. The name "Marching 110" originally referred to the number of band members, but now stands for the 110% effort expected of all members at all times.
The 110 likes to get its groove on with popular dance tunes, and marches a modified chair step style.
On October 28, 1976 the Marching 110 became the first marching band ever to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York. In the 2000 season, the marching 110 performed for an estimated 2.5 million live viewers and an estimated 65 million NBC viewers in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
