A character on the NBC show Frasier, which was a spinoff of the show Cheers. Martin Crane is played by John Mahoney, who is Frasier's dad. He is an ex-cop forced into retirement after he was shot in the hip. He hires a healthcare worker named Daphne Moon and likes to drink Ballantine's beer. He and Frasier had a falling out until they made up and starred in a very nicely written sitcom.
