The Once and Future Home of SWIL. The most modern dorm at Swarthmore. It has an elevator, a patio, small but modern kitchens, proximity to the athletic fields, the train station, the health center, and the dining hall, residents from all four classes, and individual thermostats.
I don't like Mertz. The hallways are narrow, the walls thin, and the carpet exacerbates the allergies of everyone I know. It's a fun and quirky place to live for some, but because it's so young, it has less history and less tradition than other dorms.
