Michael Andretti (Born:
October 5, 1962) - son of
Indy Car racer,
Mario Andretti. Michael is a driver in the
CART open wheel racing series. He has been racing in Indy Car/Champ Car racing since 1983. He has 17 seasons(including the 2000 season) under his belt, and is near the top of the all time
wins chart with 41. He spent one year in
F1 before returning to CART. After driving for
Newman/Haas Racing for about 10 years(some of which, as a teammate to father, Mario), he will be driving for
Barry Green with
Motorola sponsorship in the 2001 season. He will be teammates with
Paul Tracy and
Dario Franchitti.

Recently purchased Team Green from Barry Green. He will be joining the
rival IRL series in 2003, following
Honda money. He will be taking
Tony Kanaan and
Dario Franchitti.
