A character played by Gilda Radner (based on a neighbor or aunt back home in Michigan), in the early years of Saturday Night Live. The gag was essentially the same each time: Miss Litella, old, with failing hearing, would give a rebuttal to a Weekend Update commentary - unfortunately, she had heard the topic wrong and would complain about Chevy Chase's complaints about, for example, "Too much sax and violins on TV". (On top of that, she thought the anchor's name was "Cheddar Cheese"). When corrected, she'd apologize and say, "never mind".
