I took each step Slowly
Treading the wire cutting my toes
Until the blood slicked cord
Caused a misstep Dragged
A breath into my lungs
That felt like ink in water
They gasped when I fell

catch my breath Or
Remind myself there was a safety net
Ready to feather my descent
And cradle my fall
