Nahariya is a town in northern
Israel. Due to
transliteration differences, you may also see it referred to as Naharia or Nahariyya - or indeed any combination of English letters that sound broadly the same.
It's a seaside town, and Brits will probably feel at home here, given its cheery lighting, tree-lined boulevards, umm... sea, and stuff. The main differences are that the main spoken language is Hebrew and the quality of food in the restaurants is immeasurably better than anything in a comparable UK seaside town.
Nahariya is also the northernmost point of the Israeli railway network. The line used to continue onwards to Beirut and Damascus. Present politics mean this routing is unlikely ever to be reinstated.
