Class AAA farm team of the Kansas City Royals, in Omaha, Nebraska. The Royals play their home games in Rosenblatt Stadium. They compete in the Central Division of the Pacific Coast League.

The Omaha Royals were founded in 1969. They have been an affiliate of the Kansas City Royals for their entire history. The team was originally an American Association team. the team became part of the PCL after the American Association folded.

In 1999, the team's name was changed to the Omaha Golden Spikes. Omaha has traditionally been a big hub of the railroad industry, and the name was a reference to the building of the transcontinental railroad. Also, unrelatedly, the Golden Spikes Award is given annually to the top college baseball player in the nation. The College World Series is played in Rosenblatt Stadium. In 2001, Union Pacific sold their 50% share in the team and the new owner changed the name back to the Omaha Royals.
