Pete the pigeon pulled open the newspaper with his beak.

"Lets see, market's up." he thought. "Time for the drudgery of the wanted ad section."

He recalled the time when Wendy's said they don't hire pigeons.  Or the worst, when the Wal-Mart manager called him a "rat with wings."  Such speciesism has plagued him from the beginning.  Why was this world so closed to pigeons?  Why did they never get the respect they deserve?

He opened up the wanted ad section.  "Hmm, a sales position." he thought. "I hate the idea of being a salesman, but I need the money."

Pete the pigeon placed his tiny briefcase in his beak.  It was going to be a long day.  After polishing his resume he took flight with his tiny briefcase and landed at the address.

He opened the door and saw a receptionist.  "Can I help you?" she asked glaringly.  "Yes, ma'am, I'm looking for a job." "Sorry, we don't hire pigeons here."

Pete the pigeon flew out the door.  "Maybe I shouldn't have called her ma'am..." he speculated.
