Phenotype is the set of all observable properties of a living organism, including body shape/color/etc, behaviour, abilities to interact with other organisms, resulting from an interaction of the genotype and environment. In contrast to genotype, phenotype is not directly inherited (as was wrongly assumed by the lamarckism), but it has to be kept in mind that the natural selection acts on the genotype through the phenotype.
