This summary leaves out a few interesting bits:

Bush was one of the directors of, and a shareholder in, the Union Banking Corporation (UBC). On October 20, 1942, the US Alien Property Custodian seized all shares in the bank for violation of the Trading with the Enemy Act, for its ongoing support of Nazi Germany. UBC was one of a number of companies run by Bush, his father-in-law George Herbert Walker, and Roland and Averill Harriman that were involved in financing and supplying Nazi Germany. Among them was the Silesian-American Corporation, managed by Bush and Walker, which supplied coal to Germany and was seized for trading with the enemy on November 17, 1942.

Bush was also a favorite golfing partner of President Eisenhower and one of Richard Nixon's political mentors (along with Allen Dulles).
