Founded in
1828 by Johan
Albrecht Pripps, this is one of the major
Swedish beer brewing companies. Johan Albrecht started out with only a small private brewery at
Stampen in the
outskirts of
Gothenburg. However, due to his very strong
businessman character, the brewery quickly grew and in
1865,the same
year as he died, it became a corporation.
Today, Pripps is
brewing beer of all sorts. Their most popular beer since long has been
Pripps Blå, famous amongst
Swedes because of its
fresh and crisp character and
inexpensiveness.
