A university in Grahamstown, South Africa. An English-medium university with a slightly upper-class air to it. Known to have good Humanities departments (Drama, Philosophy, Psychology) and apparently good Commerce and Science faculties. Under-graduate computer science is a lot simpler than comparable courses at the same level elsewhere in the country, except for the compiler course.

Home of the Rhodes University Computer Users' Society. Has a reasonably close-knit geek population, and disorganized non-insignificant goth and pagan subcultures. The gay and lesbian group tends to be loosely-bound and supportive, and can and does organise some nice well-sized parties for gay and gay-friendly members.
