rise and shine

This is a camp song which uses the biblical story of Noah's Ark to wake people up. It tends to be sung at breakfast, when you all drag yourselves into the dining hall by sheer force of will at eight a.m. The counselors leading the song are often so chipper you want to shoot strategic spoonfuls of lumpy oatmeal at them.

Many people hate this song. It is an effective way to get people up, however; they will make that supreme effort solely in order to hit you.

I might also mention that there are exclamation points implicit after every syllable before the clap in the third line of each verse; i.e. they are all severely stressed on intonation. Well, yay.
