Robert Newman, a British comedian was one of the members of The Mary Whitehouse Experience and definitely the funniest. He went on to work closely with David Baddiel in their own show, titled, oddly enough, Newman and Baddiel.
Newman and Baddiel became instant playground favourites in schools around Britain with their History Today sketch becoming especially popular, closely followed by Newman's own Jarvis character.
N&B only lasted for one series before creative differences drove them apart - rumour has it that Newman and Baddiel grew to steadily loathe each other.
Robert Newman is the author of the novel Dependence Day and has not appeared on British TV for several years.
