roust

Beat slang for an arrest, a raid (used only for Bohemians.) Synonym: bust.

For Iceberg Slim and his contemporaries, this was a jivespeak term for harrassment by the police. If your whores are getting rousted too often, you may want to put in a fix with the heat.
