One of four attorneys who tried Ethel and Julius Rosenberg for treason in 1951. Allegedly convinced Judge Kaufmann (a family friend) to impose the death penalty. Joseph McCarthy chose Cohn as chief counsel to the Senate Subcommittee on investigations. Cohn was indicted several times on charges of witness tampering and perjury but never convicted. He was disbarred shortly before his death in 1985 of AIDS related complications. Cohn vehemently denied allegations that he was a homosexual.
