Founded by
Samuel Arthur Brain and his
uncle Joseph Benjamin Brain in 1882, at the site of the Old Brewery on St. Marys Street in
Cardiff, Brains is the largest
brewer in
Wales.

Brains also make St. Davids Ale (known as Cwrw Dewi Sant in Welsh) every spring, around about St. Davids Day
The company no longer use the Old Brewery, but during the 1999 Rugby World Cup, the yard was converted into a giant pub, with a 100 foot bar, and 2 huge screens to watch the games on.
